MEET OUR DOCTORS!

Dr. Sue Stiff: Dr. Stiff graduated from the Virginia-MD Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1986.  After several years  in a mixed animal practice (equine and small animals), she opened Kiln Creek Animal Care in 1992.  Dr. Sue's interests include soft-tissue surgery, internal medicine, and surgical dentistry.  Kiln Creek has become a second home as close relationships with pets and their owners have been forged over the years.  As her daughters have grown into college years, other interests have been able to bloom to include kayaking, biking, and hiking.  She currently resides in York County with her husband, Dr. Tim, who manages the Animal Emergency Center.

Dr. Marsha Councill: After receiving both a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and an undergraduate degree in biology at Virginia Tech, you can imagine Dr. Marsha Councill is a Hokie through and through! Since joining the staff at Kiln Creek in June 2000, Dr. Councill has been concentrating her efforts in dentistry, surgery, and diagnostic ultrasound. With the aid of ultrasound, Dr. Councill is able to diagnose and evaluate heart disease and image the abdomen to evaluate organ systems in a very non-invasive manner.  Dr. Councill's other interests include endocrinology and orthopedics.  She also enjoys creating a monthly newsletter to help educate clients about their beloved companions! When Dr. Councill isn't working, she enjoys running and spending time with her husband, Glenn (also a veterinarian), their new baby daughter, Hannah, their cocker spaniel, Bentley, and their golden retriever, Abbey.

Dr. Christina Long:
Dr. Long joined the KCAC family  in June 2006.  She graduated from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005 with a focus in small animal medicine.  Dr. Long's interests include dentistry, ultrasound, soft-tissue surgery, and preventative medicine.  She enjoys the lifelong connections made at a family- oriented practice, getting to know clients, and especially their four-legged kids!  Dr. Long and her husband, Ryan, reside in Gloucester on a small farm with their two draft horses, Sampson and Emma.  Her family is completed by three very special great danes, Summer Ann, Basil, and Gator.  In her spare time, she enjoys horseback riding, going to the beach, gardening, and playing tennis and volleyball.
